Known Issues

Tips from eRoom.net Support

Issue: Some eRoom.net email messages, such as invitations or confirmations, contain links which can be quite long. If your email client wraps these links onto more than one line, and you use just the portion on the first line, the link will not function correctly.
Resolution: When you receive a message from eRoom.net asking you to use an enclosed link, check carefully to see whether your email client has wrapped the link onto multiple lines. (These links typically end in "key=xxxxx" where the x's represent numbers.) If the link has been wrapped, copy and paste the entire link into your browser's address or location bar. Before pressing Enter, confirm that the entire link appears there; if it does not, copy and paste it line by line or type it in by hand.

Issue: If you are receiving email using a web-based email service such as Hotmail, you may experience problems when clicking the links contained in eRoom.net's invitation and confirmation messages.
Resolution: Hotmail may open eRoom.net pages in a Hotmail frameset. To avoid this, please copy and paste the link from the mail directly into a fresh browser window.

Issue: When registering a second time, eRoom.net displays an error message stating that your login name and email address have already been used.
Resolution: Register only once. Only a single registration is required, regardless of how many eRoom workplaces you join. To accept an invitation, log in with your existing login name and password. The new eRoom will be added to your My eRoom.net page as soon as you click on the invitation link.

Issue: On the Registration page, if you double-click the OK button, eRoom.net displays an error message stating that your login name and email address have already been used.
Resolution: Ignore the error message; your registration has already been accepted. To proceed, click the eRoom.net logo to return to the eRoom.net home page, then enter your new login name and password in the login box.

Issue: When editing your registration settings, if you change your personal question your personal answer remains unchanged.
Resolution: When changing your personal question, be sure to enter a corresponding personal answer.

Issue: Documents uploaded to an eRoom workplace may fail to open when clicked on, or produce a "web server not found" error.
Resolution: If your client choice is set to plug-in, and you employ an HTTP proxy server requiring a user name and password for Internet access, you should enter that name and password in the plug-in's Advanced Settings dialog. To determine whether you are using the plug-in, enter an eRoom and hover the mouse pointer over the logo in the upper left-hand corner of the page. To enter your proxy settings, click the eRoom monitor icon eRoom monitor icon in your system tray, choose Settings, and then click Advanced. Save your changes, close all browser sessions, then log back in and try the document again.

Issue: Members whose client choice is set to plug-in may be asked to reboot their machines when the plug-in installer finishes.
Resolution: This situation can occur if the installer needed to overwrite files currently in use. Either close all browsers already using the eRoom plug-in before installing it anew, or simply go ahead and reboot your machine after installation.
